The Vortex Series comprises small 8 × 8-inch mixed-media works composed of carefully arranged canceled U.S. and international postage stamps, finished with clear resin. Though modest in size, each piece is built slowly and deliberately, with attention to rhythm, balance, and flow.

Every stamp once helped carry messages from one place to another. By reorganizing these fragments into geometric patterns, the work shifts their original purpose from communication to contemplation. What was once scattered and individual becomes ordered, unified, and calm. The repeating and layered patterns are inspired by natural forms found throughout the world, such as weather systems, water movement, and energy patterns seen in nature and in meditation practices. The resin finish binds the stamps together and adds depth, clarity, and light, allowing the colors to subtly shift as the viewer moves.

These pieces are meant to be lived with. They invite quiet looking, a sense of balance, and a moment of stillness. While each work stands on its own, the Vortex Series together reflects a long-standing interest in how many small parts and histories can come together to form a harmonious whole.
